Dinky peacefully passed away in the same room and house where she was born and spent her entire life in Ewhurst, with her beloved husband Tony by her side.
Dinky's life was interwoven with the fabric of Ewhurst, from her early days attending the village school, exchanging vows at the local church and volunteering at a variety of the village clubs and causes. Dinky was the 5th generation to attend Ewurst School with her brothers and sister. She was forever sorting jumble for the Ewhurst Cricket club, making the teas - supporting her Mother and brother though none of her children played cricket.
Dinky had a varied working life in the village, having started in the Ewhurst Garage working in the office long before it was a VW garage, she helped deliver Post to the vilage over the busy periods - her father being the Post Master, and worked in the Hazelbank Stores for Doug and Bern.
She will forever be in the hearts and minds of her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grand Child and everyone whom she has touched and helped over the years.
The family requests that donations be made to Phyllis Tuckwell in Dinky's memory in lieu of flowers, a testament to her giving nature. We are asking for donations to support the great organisation, who brought such joy and support to her during her care.
Rest in peace Dinky… Kate, Mick and family
Many thanks to the Phyllis Tuckwell team for the care they provided and enabling Dinky to remain at home.
This was generously donated by Dinky's friends and family who attended her lovely service this afternoon. On behalf of Tony and the family, thank you so much xx
